I admit I’m a sucker for Valentine’s Day celebration. Bing was forced to celebrate it with me because she thinks it’s corny but it’s fun so she finally agreed. There are a lot of plans yes, but everything is so expensive so when we saw the ad at this charming little cafe we decided to buy this cheap dinner package and junked the previous plan we’ve made. Dinner was held at Il Padrino Coffee at Fairview, Quezon City.  It was so convenient that we don’t have to worry about the traffic, the parking, and it’s near our place we could have just walked home. The ticket is only P800.00 and it’s good for two. It includes mushroom soup, grilled steak salad with apricot and mustard dressing, stuffed chicken with creamy sauce, dessert and a choice of hot or cold drink.

I went there on time to meet Bing and ordered coffee jelly. It’s actually bland and expensive but it’s okay because there’s a scoop of vanilla ice cream. There’s a mini library with a small collection of books and magazines. It was really cool since Bing was caught in traffic. She came from PAGCOR Cavite where she worked so you can imagine the travel time. Here are some of the photos:

Fish Ball, Kwek-Kwek and One Day Old. The white balls are called Fish balls made of cheap fish, flour and seasonings. The orange balls are called Kwek-Kwek or Toneneng which is boiled and peeled quail eggs that are battered and deep fried. The red ones are what we called One Day Old. It’s a day old chick that is unseasoned, battered and deep fried to perfection. These foods are usually served in bamboo skewers with a choice of sauces.
