Yesterday, I went around Meto Manila with my bestfriend looking for all the materials that I need to make a blood vial pendant. Everything went smooth from Fairview going to Quezon Ave. But when I reached EDSA, it took me a couple of hours before I reached Makati. The traffic was really unbelievable maybe because I’m always on the night shift and things like this don’t really happen very late at night.

Anyway, it made me so tired. I just came out from work, went home to take a bath, ate something then went out to accomplish this plan that I’ve been researching for the whole week. This is me. When I want something, I really find ways to make it happen. I want to make a blood vial pendant. I know it’s creepy, weird and disgusting, too. But hell, I want to have it, and that’s enough reason for me to go on with the plan.

So I went to pick her up and went to Rockwell to purchase the vials at The Bead Shop. It actually took us an hour to decide which vial suits us the best. We bought the vial stopper, the cap with hook and the cord, too. It was pricey but i don’t care since I really, really want to have it. Besides, there’s no other suppliers I can think of besides Ebay and online sellers who don’t ship these items to the Philippines.

We ate at Dencio’s. We ordered Kare-Kare and Crispy Sisig. We were attended to by a waitress named Claudia. She was voluptous, and very pretty. So we ate, made plans and looked at Claudia lustfully.

We ditched the Breaking Dawn movie because we’re unable to find the anti-coagulant tube at any pharmacy we’ve been to. Feels like we had a Mercury Drug fieldtrip that day. We’d been awake for twenty eight hours and we were already cranky, impatient and thirsty which by the way is not a very good combination. Ivory looked at me and asked:

“You just won’t give this up, will you?”
“No.” I said.

So I decided to go straight to Bambang where medical supplies abound. I parked at Central Market and asked around. The vendors told me that it’s a tricycle ride away. Since I don’t know how to get there, we rode the trike. We felt so exhausted and triumphant that we bought five anticoagulant vacutainer (tube that has a purple cap), ten pieces of blood lancets and a self pricking device.

We went home very satisfied with ourselves. It made me realize that when you really want something, even if it means you’re jumping into the unknown, you will tend to do it with all your heart and it’s very rewarding at the end.

We went to Ivory’s house and ate dinner. There we met Rhey, her girlfriend, and she bought buttered chicken from a bar along Makati Avenue that’s called A Venue. I was so tired that I didn’t eat very much. We drank coffee afterwards while listening to an old record player to lull Andi, Ivory’s niece, to sleep. We played songs like Release me, Sad Movies..oldies but goodies.

I was so scared to prick my own finger so Ivory did it first. She assured me that tattoo hurts more than finger-pricking. We first tried it at level two but it doesn’t give out so much blood so we tried the maximum level which is five. We extracted more blood from it and placed it inside the vacutainer. We pricked all our fingers so that we can fill out 2 vials each. It numb my fingers but I do it passionately. We shake the vacutainer every now and then so that the anticoagulant will mixed the blood well. Afterwards, we placed it on a dish and used medicine dropper to transfer it to the vials. It was disgusting really, because the blood was dripping all over the place.

Rhey said to me while I was filling the vial with my own blood, “You know what? I’ve been around, meeting a lot of people, but never I’ve encountered someone like you, like the both of you. Yung trip nyo kakaiba eh..?”

And I was like “Ughmmn” while my concentration was on the vial.

When it was already full, we placed the stopper and sealed it with a cap.

We had fun, and this is something not everyone will do. We are this crazy, but the thing is, I’m happy that there’s one other person I can share this craziness in the world, and that is my bestfriend Ivory.
