I admit I’m a sucker for Valentine’s Day celebration. Bing was forced to celebrate it with me because she thinks it’s corny but it’s fun so she finally agreed. There are a lot of plans yes, but everything is so expensive so when we saw the ad at this charming little cafe we decided to buy this cheap dinner package and junked the previous plan we’ve made. Dinner was held at Il Padrino Coffee at Fairview, Quezon City.  It was so convenient that we don’t have to worry about the traffic, the parking, and it’s near our place we could have just walked home. The ticket is only P800.00 and it’s good for two. It includes mushroom soup, grilled steak salad with apricot and mustard dressing, stuffed chicken with creamy sauce, dessert and a choice of hot or cold drink.

I went there on time to meet Bing and ordered coffee jelly. It’s actually bland and expensive but it’s okay because there’s a scoop of vanilla ice cream. There’s a mini library with a small collection of books and magazines. It was really cool since Bing was caught in traffic. She came from PAGCOR Cavite where she worked so you can imagine the travel time. Here are some of the photos:

Adobo is one of the Filipino favorite dish. There are a lot of variation on how to cook it. It mainly consists of pork or chicken or both cooked in soy sauce, vinegar, garlic, black pepper and bay leaf. Some used salt instead of soy sauce. Some put sugar or pineapple or coconut milk. Adobo is really one hell of a dish!

So there’s a new cheap restaurant we found at Robinson’s Place Manila called Adobo Connection. Our meal is only P99.00 each. Website is http://www.adoboconnection.com/

This is so cool..

I will not bore you about how awesome Carlos Celdran is.  There are a lot of blogs/reviews written about him so just google it because probably what I’m going to say is very similar to their experiences. He’s on TV, newspapers, radios, jail, oh god, everywhere. He’s a famous Manila tour guide here in the Philippines and you can contact him at http://celdrantours.blogspot.com/ or just like his facebook page and wait for his barter tour like what we did. You’ll never see manila the same way again. Oh my, I miss being a tour guide myself. So here are the photos everyone, enjoy!
